The platos are not stellar and the churros are not authentic.

When I first went to the Churreria I loved it. The new bar seemed very nice but not too flashy. The service was great but the real deal is the food. I had the empanadas de carne as a appetizer and I highly reccomend it. Then the bistec al cabballo con arroz y frijoles. The food was excellent but I wanted more so I had the churros con chocolate. A very Spanish dessert. I only wish they had delivery.

As a Spaniard and neighbor to the Churrería, the food served at that place is a shame for the excellent cuisine of my country (try instead any of the "Jaleo" (mid-priced), "Taberna del Alabardero (a little bit expensive but excellent) or even "La Tasca" in Chinatown (cheaper but a little less authentic).

Said that, it's the perfect spot for a breakfast: 12 churros per 3$ it's a great deal, and get an awesome Chocolate to dip the churros in.
