Southside 815

Southside 815, web site, 815 S. Washington Street, Alexandria, VA, 703-836-6222 (Metro Trip Planner - opens in new window) [Washingtonian | WaPo | City Paper | food-plan | openlist | Yelp]

Biscuits, grits, mashed potatoes, etc. I have yet to go. I am told they have some New Orleans dishes as well, such as Po’ Boy with fries and slaw.

Comments

Try the gumbo.

Appetizers are good. Standard American fare with surprising amount of seafood added (fried oysters, yummy). Bar has Happy Hour special on premium beers 4-7. Kind of a dude ranch around dinner time, definitely picks up after 9:00. Bar area is totally packed on a Friday night from 10:30 on.
