Rose Restaurant

Rose Restaurant, 126 W. Maple Avenue, Vienna, VA, 703-255-9696 or 703-255-2557 (Metro Trip Planner - opens in new window) [Washingtonian | Falls-Church News Press | Chowhound]

Yes this is from the folks who brought you the old Café Rose, in Falls Church. The new incarnation is brighter, quicker, and has a broader menu. The eggplant appetizer is first-rate, the yogurt dipping sauce for the bread excellent. The two stews are both good, the best kabob is the lamb, one of the best kabobs around right now, very juicy. Very low prices, in terms of value-added this is a real winner. The velvet paintings on the wall only add to the atmosphere.

Chickpea and beef stew (left), eggplant and beef stew (right). Both excellent.

I haven't tried the new location, but I took a Persian friend to the old one and she said the rice was just like her mom makes.

This place has the most tastiest food in washington D.C area. I would recommend every entree on the menue! Joey is a delightful young man!

This place is an excellent venue. The food is great and the service is superb.
Joey has an outstanding personality where it gives a warm and cozy feeling.
I loved the Chicken kebob.
And i definitely would go back!

The first time I visited Rose the entire experience was excellent, great food and friendly service, the gentleman pictured above was very welcoming. I recently brought a friend from work here for lunch and the experience was quite different, the food was excellent, but whoever was working(not the gentleman above) was very rude.He barely spoke to us and his demeanor while serving our food and taking our orders made us quite feel quite unwelcome, like he didn't understand why we were in his restaurant. As a result I will not be returning, it's unfortunate because the food really is quite delicious. If you go, just hope that Joey is there and things will be great.

Fantastic food. The chicken kebab was the most tender meat I've ever had. I also really liked the egpplant dip and the spicy green sauce they gave out to start. Really fantastic.
